Concord Montessori & Community School
Our goal for CM&CS graduates is that each is prepared to pursue whatever they wish to after graduation, whether college, trade school, business, etc. To accomplish that end, we have created a rigorous and challenging curriculum that requires four years each of Math, Science, English and History, along with full participation in all the arts classes (Instrumental and Vocal Music, Dance, Visual Art and Theatre). There are no electives at CM&CS, but there are opportunities for independent study in subject areas of particular interest to individual students. New to the curriculum for 2007-2008 is a Spanish I class.

Performing for Success
High School students receive instruction on a "block" schedule with classes meeting for 90 minutes each on alternate days. Teachers find that the longer block allows time for more intense project and discussion work, as well as opportunity to provide more individualized instruction to students. Class sizes are small, so all students have the opportunity to engage in class participation to the fullest.
Each high school student is assigned an acdemic "mentor" who meets with the student periodically to keep track of academic progress and serve as a source of information for parents. Parents also have access to assignments and current academic standing in all classes through "Snapgrades" at www.snapgrades.com.ble-click here to edit the text.
